Andrew Nosal, adjunct assistant professor of environmental and ocean sciences at USD, can provide perspective on this study. He is not affiliated with this study, however it aligns with his research on sharks using smell to navigate. Pandemic’s Impact on Children’s Mental Health May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the pandemic has had a big impact on children’s mental health. Erika Cameron, associate professor and department chair of USD’s Counseling & Marital and Family Therapy is available to provide insight on this topic and how the closure of in-person learning has affected kids. Governor Newsom's California Comeback Plan Professor of Economics Alan Gin is available to talk about Governor Newsom's plan, a key component of which is the $5 billion for unpaid rent relief and the $2 billion for unpaid utility bills. This is a boon according to Gin, because having to repay the accumulated back rent due would slow the economic recovery and/or lead to evictions that would worsen the homelessness problem. Brianna Jackson is this year's winner of USD's annual V2 Pitch Competition. A student in the master's in executive leadership program, Jackson will use the $10,000 prize to help develop a virtual try-on app for her budding company.
