Wellness Reminders

Dear Toreros:

I am reaching out to you with important Student Wellness updates. We are excited to share that two USD Alumni from our Clinical Mental Health Counseling program have joined the Wellness team this academic year. Julianna Abercrombie, MA and Derrick Young, MA will be facilitating various wellness services and supports. Both counselors identify as people of color.

Ms. Abercrombie is fluent in Spanish and will focus primarily on individual student services. Mr. Young, a veteran experienced in providing support to those assigned to active duty and veterans, will facilitate wellness group conversations and programs.

During this time of the year, stressors can often outweigh the anticipation of the holidays and the long-awaited winter break. Please remember that you are not alone! There are people and resources available to you, right now.

  • Reach out for help and support others in doing the same. USD Student Wellness counselors can be reached at any time (24/7) by calling 619-260-4655.
  • Get informed by visiting You Are USD and be sure to follow @BeWellUSD on Instagram for our upcoming "Nourish to Flourish" campaign promoting self and community care through our final exam period.
