Wellness Services during COVID-19

Dear USD Campus Community,

As we navigate the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) public health emergency and settle into remote learning and engagement for the weeks ahead, your well-being is of critical importance. In this email you will find information about different Student Wellness resources including how to connect and get support from a counselor, medical provider, and where to find us on social media.

Please utilize the services and resources below to fit your needs. Please also keep these resources in mind as you support your peers through this time. You can always call our Counseling Center to consult if you are ever concerned about a friend or classmate.

The You are USD website is your hub of resources to help you continue adapting and adjusting to this unique time. Please take some time to visit You are USD and follow us on Instagram @BeWellUSD to learn about how to stay well during this time.

Toreros, while we may be apart, please remember that You are USD and you are never alone.

Medical Health

Student Health Center

To ensure students receive the medical care needed, we are connecting with students through e-visits by phone or video. This allows students to get high-quality medical care without needing to leave their living environment. To schedule a phone or video visit because of an acute illness or injury, students should call 619-260-4595, Monday-Friday, between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • If a student has a phone or video visit and a medical provider recommends an in-clinic appointment, that will be scheduled.
  • Students can send requests for medication refills, general health questions, immunization information, billing information or questions about ongoing care needs securely through the MyWellness Portal https://mywellness.sandiego.edu/
  • To reach the SHC for non-urgent questions or assistance please email usdhealthcenter@sandiego.edu.

As community members it is important to continue to follow governmental guidance to reduce community spread. We would like to specifically highlight how to support your health if you or someone in your household is sick as many of us live with community. Please continue to take care of yourself and one another.

Social Media

Although physical social distancing is needed at this time, as you know, social media is a great way to stay connected with friends and family, and connect with those who may be feeling more isolated right now. Your "like" can help bring hope to many desiring connections.

Follow Wellness on Instagram and stay connected with us through our various accounts:

Transitioning to a new care approach may come with challenges but by working together with patience, and flexibility, we will successfully move forward in addressing this public health emergency to bring hope and support to our community. Additionally, we want to remind you that Campus Recreation, the Health Promotion Team, Gender Identity Resources and all of Student Affairs are here to support you.

As a community we will navigate this crisis together.

Sincerely,
