Welcome back to campus! We know it has been a stressful time, so we have some goody bags for you. Come pick them up in Warren Hall, 2nd floor, all week - while supplies last! And come back on Tuesday and Wednesday at noon for some treats!
Spring '22 COVID Updates
- Order your free at-home COVID tests through https://www.covidtests.gov/.
- In-person classes begin today. Masks are required inside all buildings. Please review the policy on eating and drinking indoors.
- Beginning this week, all students, staff, and faculty will be subject to random covid testing. Details can be found at the Spring Semester Testing Program site. You will be notified via an email from “no-reply@mg.affinityassure.com” with the subject line “University of San Diego (USD) - Order Submission with Activation". These will go out every Friday. Non-compliance with this requirement will result in interim suspension.
- Those with a medical or religious exemption, and/or those currently ineligible for the booster, must participate in mandatory weekly testing.
- If you have been exposed or tested positive, please review the USD 2022 COVID-19 Quarantine Protocol.
- Please remember to monitor the Dean’s COVID-19 updates page, where the Dean’s School of Law specific updates are posted, and send any questions to lawstudentaffairs@sandiego.edu.

Are you looking for advice or guidance after receiving your Fall 2021 grades? Here are some good resources:
- Review your final exam. Email your professor and copy their assistant; they should be able to set up a meeting with you to review your final exam.
- Set up a meeting with Jennifer Dean or Mariam Saleh in Academic Success & Bar Programs to discuss study strategies and course resources.
- Set up a meeting with an Academic Advisor in Law Student Affairs to discuss graduation requirements, course selection, and other university resources.

Volunteers Needed for the 2022 ABA Law Student Division Regional Client Counseling Competition
The USD Client Advocacy Team will be virtually hosting the ABA Law Student Division Regional Client Counseling Competition on February 11th and 12th. Competitors from 9 different law schools across the country will be competing in this virtual competition, where the competitors are tasked with conducting several 45-minute interviews of prospective clients consulting the competitors for issues involving civil rights. Resultantly, the USD Client Advocacy Team is seeking USD law students (1L - 4L) who are interested and willing to play a client for the competition during one of the three available times below:
(1) Friday, February 11, 2022, from 8am - 11am (2) Friday, February 11, 2022, from 1pm - 4 pm (3) Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 8am - 12pm

Student Writing Competitions
Looking for a way to get published? Maybe earn some extra cash? Then consider entering a writing competition. Visit the Writing Competitions web page for current opportunities. There are a variety of topics that you can write an essay on. Current opportunities include the The American Kennel Club (AKC) Companion Animal Law Writing Contest and Marshall M. Schulman Criminal Law Student Writing Competition. Deadlines vary and new competitions are posted periodically, so check them out today!

Law Student in Need Fund
Through the generosity of donors, the School of Law has established the Law Student in Need Fund to provide direct support for law students who are facing emergency circumstances that place in jeopardy their ability to complete their legal education. Please visit the Law Student in Need Fund website for the funding guidelines and a link to the application.
