Elaine Giesbrecht, immigration staff attorney at the USD Legal Clinics, can provide insight on what this ruling means for the DACA program, including outside of Texas, and how this will affect current and new DACA applicants. Understanding Governor Newsom's "Approach to the Electricity System of the Future" and How it Affects California's Neighbors Governor Newsom recently announced his "Approach to the Electricity System of the Future" plan. One of the elements of the plan is grid modernization and distributed energy resources. Jae Kim, associate professor of industrial and systems engineering, can provide insight on where we are in the push for clean energy, the challenges and benefits of the plan and how California's neighboring states will be impacted. The Local Effect of the UN’s Climate Change Report A new report from the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) shared a harrowing report on the state of climate change. New Research: The Growing Trend of Live-Stream Shopping
People have been turning to QVC for decades and the latest version of “shoptainment” is live-stream shopping-- where hosts showcase products online, interact with consumers and offer giveaways. Colin Campbell, assistant professor of marketing, recently co-authored an article in the Journal of Advertising Research exploring live-stream shopping events. He finds the increased interaction that social media enables and the increased ease of purchasing make these events more powerful than a typical infomercial.
