What Can Apple’s Zero-Click Exploit Teach Us About Future Cyber Security Hacks?

The University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab discovered a zero-click exploit that infected an iPhone remotely, leading to an Apple security update. Michelle Moore, Director of the Graduate Cyber Security Operations & Leadership and professor of practice at USD, can discuss how this method of a cyber attack could worsen if people aren’t employing the proper protections and tips for people to protect themselves.

California Employment Data Shows Most In-Demand Jobs

The California Employment Development Department recently shared a report that showcased the top in-demand occupations. At the top of the list were nurses and operations managers. Dan Roccato, clinical professor of finance at USD, can provide insight on this report and also discuss how these top jobs stack up against actual job openings available versus the number of unemployed workers in the market. 

International Day of Peace

Today is International Day of Peace with the theme “recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world.” USD has one of the only schools for peace in the world-- The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies. Rachel Locke, director of Impact:Peace at the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at USD, can speak on how we can shape more peaceful and just societies where peaceful coexistence is the new normal.

USD's Changemaker Hub Celebrates 10 Years Serving the Community

USD is a part of an elite group of 51 Changemaker Campuses who are recognized for addressing humanity’s most urgent challenges through community work. In the past 10 years, The Changemaker Hub has partnered with campus collaborators on hundreds of projects and worked with thousands of students to turn their ideas into positive change in the community. For example, a recent project helped to revamp a mobile shower unit for people experiencing homelessness.
