Also, in the past year, 1 in 3 women has considered leaving the workforce or downshifting their careers. Carrie Tremble, Clinical Director of USD's Tele-mental Health Training Clinic and Professor of Practice, can explain why women may have been under more stress than men during the pandemic and ways people can manage their stress. What to Expect this Flu Season Flu season is here. Influenza activity usually starts to increase in October. Dr. Jonathan Mack, Director of Health Care and Nursing Informatics Programs at USD, can speak to why this flu season could be worse than in prior years as the pandemic continues and tips for people to protect themselves. World Teachers’ Day Today is World Teachers' Day, as recognized by UNESCO. This year, the organization is focusing on the "support teachers need to fully contribute to the recovery process." Reyes Quezada, Professor and Chair of the Department of Learning and Teaching, can provide insight on what support teachers need today and what the profession looks like in 2021. Kacie Miura, assistant professor of political science and international relations, is the co-author of a new study published by the National Committee of American Foreign Policy that analyzed diplomacy between the U.S. and China. The research found the bilateral dialogues that took place under President Obama yielded substantial progress on cooperation on global issues such as climate change and economic policy. The research suggests that official collaboration remains possible even as bilateral relations become more competitive.
