Colin Campbell, assistant professor of marketing, recently completed a study that found consumers are becoming better at identifying and reacting to deals. He can speak about that research and ways for consumers to find the best online deals.

California’s Move to Electric Vehicles by 2035 -- What’s Next to Make the Goal a Reality?

Governor Newsom announced earlier this month that California would join a COP26 declaration on 100% zero-emission vehicles by 2035. Looking ahead, what needs to be done to make electric vehicles a reality by 2035? What does the market look like right now? And, what challenges could California face while moving in this direction? Jae Kim, associate professor in industrial and systems engineering, can provide insight on this topic.

USD Masters in Business Analytics Program Partners with 2-1-1 San Diego, Applying Data Science to Identify Early Indicators of a First Homeless Event

 

The USD Masters in Business Analytics Program partnered with 2-1-1 San Diego to identify early risk factors associated with having a first homeless event. Research shows if a person experiences a first homeless event, they are 2.6 times more likely to experience another homeless event - therefore preventing this first homeless event is key to addressing the experiences of homelessness overall. Andrea Yoder Clark, adjunct professor of data science, can share more about the research and how partnerships like this can help advance social change initiatives.

The Nonprofit Institute at the University of San Diego recently released a report that found the demand for nonprofits increased, mostly due to COVID-19. As people prepare to give this year, Emily Young, Executive Director of The Nonprofit Institute, can provide details on the state of San Diego's nonprofits, what the greatest nonprofit needs are this year and tips for people when deciding where to give this holiday season.
