Will the Impact of High Gas Prices Drive Consumers to Consider Electric Vehicles Sooner?

A report from Alliance for Automotive Innovation found that in 2021 "nearly 13 percent of sales in California were EV, which made the largest gains of just over 5 percentage points year-over-year." And, with gas prices skyrocketing, could more consumers look to electric vehicles (EV) as a way to avoid future gas price hikes? Jae Kim, associate professor in industrial and systems engineering, can share the challenges consumers face with purchasing an electric vehicle (i.e. high EV prices, supply chain issues). Kim can also discuss the factors that could play a role in whether consumers make a leap to purchasing an EV.
