U.S. Department of Labor Report Details the Impact of the Pandemic on Women and Their Careers

A recent report from the U.S. Department of Labor looked at the impact of the pandemic on women's careers, especially women of color. The report found "4.4 million women left the labor force between February and April 2020, compared to 3.9 million men" and "Black and Hispanic women had higher and more persistently elevated unemployment rates in 2020 compared to white women." Tara Ceranic Salinas, professor of business ethics, can discuss this report and highlight why the pandemic impacted women more than men. Salinas can also provide tips for women to advance their careers during the pandemic especially as many positions have adapted to more hybrid/remote environments.
