Back to School: Tips for Students and Families for a Successful School Year

Reyes Quezada, professor and chair of the department of learning and teaching, is available to share tips for students and parents to create a routine. Quezada can also provide educational strategies to set students up for success in the new school year.

Back to School: Tips to Save on School Supplies

According to the National Retail Federation, back-to-school families plan to spend $864 on average. Dan Roccato, clinical professor of finance, can explain how inflation will make buying back-to-school items especially challenging for families this year. He can also offer advice for parents and students on the best ways to save on school supplies.

State Plan to Transform Kids’ Mental Health

Governor Gavin Newsom recently unveiled California’s Master Plan for Kids’ Mental Health to ensure all California kids, parents and communities have increased access to mental health and substance use services.  Carrie Tremble, Clinical Director of USD’s Tele-mental Health Training Clinic and professor of practice, can provide insight into the increasing mental health issues among children and how children’s mental health can impact their learning. She can also explain how USD’s Tele-mental Health Training Clinic is attempting to help the mental health counseling shortage among children.

USD Named 'Most Beautiful Campus' by The Princeton Review

 

The University of San Diego has the most beautiful campus in the nation, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company ranked USD #1 on its list of Top 25 Most Beautiful Campuses in the country. The annual ranking is one of many featured in the publication's 2023 edition of “The Best 388 Colleges.”

 

The rankings are based on survey results from more than 160,000 students across the nation and include categories including financial aid, career services, sustainability and quality of life.
