Unusual San Diego Weather-- What Can We Expect in the Future?

First a heat wave, then a tropical storm– Zhi-Yong Yin, environmental and ocean sciences professor, is available to speak about the unusual San Diego weather we have been experiencing and whether we can expect more weather like this in the future. He can also speak about how the recent heat wave has affected our current drought situation.

USD Names New Tribal Liaison of the Center for Inclusion and Diversity
|
USD named Sahmie S. Wytewa as the new Tribal Liaison for the university’s Center for Inclusion and Diversity. Sahmie is Piikyasngyam (corn clan), a member of the Hopi Tribe from the village of Misongnovi in Second Mesa, Arizona. Wytewa’s role will build on USD’s mission and vision to strengthen partnerships and programming in support of Native-Indigenous students and communities. Some of Wytewa’s goals are to show up authentically for Native-Indigenous students and faculty and also to connect with local tribal nations. Visionary San Diego Philanthropists Ron and Alexis Fowler Donate $6.5 Million to USD to Support Entrepreneurship for a Better World

Ron Fowler, Chairman and CEO of Liquid Investments, Inc. and the former Executive Chairman and co-owner of the San Diego Padres, and his wife Alexis, have made another generous donation to the University of San Diego. Through a series of gifts that now total $6.5 million, the Fowlers’ support will make the University an epicenter for social innovation and entrepreneurship focused on preparing the next generation of changemakers.
