Future of Short-Term Rentals in Mission Beach
|
Applicants vying for nearly 1,100 vacation rental licenses in Mission Beach will learn the outcome of their lottery no later than December 16. So what does this mean for applicants who do not receive a license? Jeremy Gabe, assistant professor of real estate, can speak about the economics of San Diego vacation rentals and what people may do with their assets if they aren't granted a license.

Examining Major Financial Institutions’ Historical Ties to Slavery
|
Some members of Congress are pushing for a bill that would require some of the country’s biggest financial institutions to examine their historical role in slavery, and lay out what they’re doing to address their past. Sarah Federman, associate professor of conflict resolution, was part of a panel of experts that testified before Congress, and can talk about these institutions’ histories, and what this bill would expect of them.

New Year, New Opportunities

The recent jobs report showed hiring is still going strong, despite other economic uncertainties. With employers still looking to fill positions, the upcoming New Year could be a good time for workers to dust off their resumes and explore a career change. Matt Yepez, the senior director of USD’s Career Development Center, can talk about some of the things people may not know when they send in a job application, and how they can get a leg up on the competition.

USD Women's Volleyball Advances to First-Ever Final Four
|
The USD Women’s Volleyball team is headed to the Final Four for the first time after their biggest win in program history on Saturday, beating Stanford in the NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight. Their next game is on Thursday in Omaha, Nebraska against No.1 ranked Texas.
