How Students can Take Care of Their Mental Health as They Begin College

As fall approaches, many students will be heading off to college for the first time. Starting college can be an exciting journey, but moving to a new environment can also be difficult on one’s mental health. Carrie Tremble is the clinical director of USD Tele-mental Health Training Clinic, which is open to young adults and college students up to age 26. She is available to speak on how students can take care of their mental health as they start college and she can provide tips for students who may be living on their own for the first time.

Impact of Hilary and Looking Forward to El Niño

Tropical Storm Hilary has come and gone, but left its mark on Southern California. While it didn’t pass through as a hurricane, in just one day it brought rainfall totals equal to what some areas see over long stretches of the year. Environmental and ocean sciences professor Zhi-Yong Yin is available to talk about the factors that generated Tropical Storm Hilary, its impact on our region, and what we can expect weather-wise with El Niño conditions in the forecast.
