USD Marketing Students Partner with Fashion Valley Mall for Student-Led Fashion Show
|
Marketing students in the Knauss School of Business at the University of San Diego are collaborating with Fashion Valley Mall to produce a fashion show created “by students for students,'' with all proceeds donated to the Maui Strong Fund at the students' request. Every aspect of this event– from event planning to branding, outfit curation, PR, social media marketing, and more– is spearheaded and executed entirely by the marketing class. Justine Rapp Farrell, Professor & Chair of Marketing, and her marketing students are available to talk about this unique opportunity for students to collaborate with USD faculty and industry professionals to gain first-hand experience. The fashion show will be held on campus on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. *Please RSVP to press@sandiego.edu if you’d like to attend.

Changes to the FAFSA May Cause Confusion Among Families Applying for College
|
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid also known as FAFSA is making significant changes to its application that will affect families applying for college and financial aid this year. Changes will affect how income is reported as well as how family members participating in the process have to register to even fill out the form. Kellie Nehring, Director of Financial Aid at USD, is available to share with families in San Diego what they need to know to ensure the financial assistance process does not become overwhelming as they begin applying for their dream schools this year.

How the Pandemic has Changed the Workplace

During the pandemic, many people were forced to work remotely. But now, people have returned to the workplace and may find that the office is more distracting than before. Veronica Galvan, associate professor of psychological sciences, was recently interviewed about this topic. She is available to speak about how attention, memory, and work-related stress have changed since the pandemic.

San Diego/Tijuana Selected for World Design Capital 2024
|
World Design Capital (WDC) is designated every two years by the World Design Organization. It recognizes cities for their effective use of design to enhance economic, social, cultural and environmental quality of life. San Diego/Tijuana is the first cross-border region to be designated World Design Capital and the first time a U.S. city has been selected. Bianca Alvarado, Associate Director of EdTech & Innovation Impact at USD’s Jacobs Institute for Innovation in Education, has been selected as a World Design Capital Design-to-Action Network Lead for the Science & Technology/Ciencia y Tecnología focus area. She is available to talk about the importance of the San Diego/Tijuana designation, as well as her role selecting design projects that will make a lasting impact on our cross-border region.
