Meeting of the Minds to Tackle AI Issues
|
The development of artificial intelligence is moving at a breakneck pace, and governments are working to keep up. Recently, 28 countries — including China and the U.S. — came together to sign a declaration acknowledging the risks of AI and pledging to work together to address them. Austin Choi-Fitzpatrick, professor of sociology, is leading a team focused on anticipating the impact AI has on human rights, especially on slavery and trafficking. Choi-Fitzpatrick’s expertise comes from a recent study he completed at Harvard on the future of human rights, and a working group he leads at Yale on the same topic.

He talks about why he thinks popcorn flicks deserve just as much a place in our culture as prestige films -- and what he likes about each of them -- and why going to a crowded movie theater can be an experience unlike any other.
