Last night during a ceremony in Coronado, Justin Brooks, professor of practice, received the Ohtli Award. Meta Announces It Will Begin Labeling AI-Generated Images on Platforms

Meta recently announced that it will start labeling AI-generated images on Facebook and Instagram "in the coming months" and it is working with industry partners to help identify AI content. Currently, when a user creates images using the Meta AI feature, Meta puts visible markers on the image to let people know they are AI-generated. Darby Vickers, assistant professor of philosophy and AI ethics researcher, can discuss what this means for future regulations on AI images and how this will contribute to avoiding misinformation especially during an election year.
