Federal and State Tax Filing Deadline Extended

San Diego County residents and businesses now have until June 17 to file individual and business tax returns and pay state and federal taxes. Miranda Perry Fleischer, Professor of Law and Co-Director of Graduate Tax Programs, can talk about who qualifies for the extension, tax relief for people who were impacted by the storms, as well as tips for filing taxes.

Daylight Saving Time and the Impact on Mental Health

On Sunday, March 10, clocks will spring forward for daylight saving time. Carrie Tremble, Clinical Director of USD’s Tele-mental Health Training Clinic, can talk about the impact daylight saving time has on people’s mental health and some ways to help you and your children ease into the time change.

11th Annual Mariachi Conference Kicks Off at the University of San Diego

The University of San Diego presents a two-day event where students are immersed in music and culture. Participants will learn mariachi history, instrument technique and musical style, culminating with a concert open to the public. The event will take place March 8-9 at USD. Mariachi Ensemble Director Serafin Paredes is available to speak about this San Diego staple and the impact of mariachi music on our region.

"At the Edge of it All Podcast": A Professor’s Journey From Shrimp Expert to Sustainability Champion

This week, “At the Edge of It All” was joined by Michel Boudrias, associate professor of ocean and environmental sciences. The discussion was a journey in itself, charting Boudrias’ course from being a young fan of Jacques Cousteau to diving to the depths of the ocean himself and studying how shrimp swim.
