The Federal Reserve is convening today, and is expected to decide whether to slash interest rates. However, recent reports have experts speculating that the Fed may either hold off on cuts or slow down its plans. What the Fed decides to do, experts say, could be an indicator of the state of the economy and inflation. Alan Gin, associate professor of economics, can talk about some of the factors that go into the Fed’s decision and what it could mean for consumers and the U.S. economy.

California Counties Most At Risk for Wildfires

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has created a map that shows which counties across the United States are the most at risk for wildfires. According to the data, San Diego County’s risk index is very high. Darbi Berry, Director of Climate & Environmental Programs at The Nonprofit Institute at USD, can discuss if/how climate change is affecting fire conditions and what our environmental outlook looks like in San Diego County related to prospective fires.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week

This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week, which aims to raise awareness about neurodiversity, promoting understanding and acceptance while challenging stereotypes and misconceptions. Dr. Kimberly A. White-Smith, dean and professor of practice within the School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES), can talk about how schools are changing to meet the needs of neurodiverse students, as well as ways educators can support neurodiversity in the classroom.
