Mexico Is Set To Have a Historic Day of Elections
|
On June 2, 2024, Mexicans will make history as they go to the polls to elect a new president, a new congress, nine governors, and over 20,000 state and local offices. With more eligible voters than ever before (including 2 million residing outside of Mexico), and for the first time ever, two female candidates leading the presidential race, this round of elections has the potential to change the face of Mexican politics. Emily Edmonds-Poli, professor of political science and international relations, is available to speak about the elections and their potential implications for bilateral relations with the United States on issues such as migration, border security, and trade.
