Nikolas Behar is a professor of cybersecurity at USD. As many districts head back to class, how can parents and caregivers best support children’s health? Todd Chamoy is clinical faculty at USD and a clinical nurse at Rady Children’s Hospital. He is available to provide health advice for children to keep in mind as they gear up for the school year, including best sleep habits, physical activity, and managing stress, as well as how to prevent more common injuries he is seeing in the hospital.

Record-Breaking Great Barrier Reef Temperatures

According to a recent study posted in the journal Nature, the sea surface temperature around the Great Barrier Reef this year is the hottest it has ever been in 400 years, which poses a huge threat to the coral reef ecosystem in the area. Cawa Tran, assistant professor of biology, studies climate change’s impact on coral. She can provide insight into how these higher ocean temperatures are impacting the Great Barrier Reef, as well as our ocean life here in California, and what we can expect in the years to come.
