USD Professor Using TikTok To Make Science Accessible and Fun for Families
|
Two years ago, USD Physics professor Dr. Rae Robertson-Anderson launched a TikTok channel called @physics_mamma with a goal of making science accessible to everyone -- and fun too. Today, the science social media channel has more than 1,600 followers and over 40 videos explaining everything from a solar eclipse to the physics behind floating and frosting. Dr. Robertson-Anderson says her kids are the ones behind all of the science questions she helps to explain, so she lets them spark the ideas for what she produces next. Dr. Rae Robertson-Anderson hopes her TikTok makes science approachable for all ages and also shows kids that scientists can be women -- and moms too.
