USD Students to Help Local Hispanic Businesses Expand into the Global Market
As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, the Knauss School of Business at USD has received a $120K grant to support local Hispanic-owned businesses. This grant, funded in part by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, will enable the Knauss School of Business to offer essential training entirely in Spanish, helping these businesses expand into global markets. Additionally, it will create paid consulting opportunities for USD undergraduate international business students, who will develop tailored internationalization plans for the selected companies. Eileen Daspro, faculty director of international business, is available for interviews to discuss the significance of this grant and its potential impact on local Hispanic-owned businesses. *Interviews available in English and Spanish.

USD School of Law Grows Cross-Border Legal Work with Recent Master's Program in Spanish
USD's School of Law recently launched a unique online master's program on U.S. law, completely taught in Spanish. The program welcomed its second cohort of 53 students from six different Spanish-speaking countries this semester, who are learning about the American legal system and best practices in oral litigation. This program is one of several new cross border initiatives at the School of Law -- from a partnership with a law school in Mexico City, training for Mexican judges, to educating Mexican law students and professors on oral litigation. Karen Sigmond, assistant dean of graduate, international and certificate Programs, can share the importance of building legal partnerships in Mexico and how this works toward the school's mission of strengthening the rule of law, around the world. *Interviews available in English and Spanish.
