Breast Cancer Awareness Month
|
This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual event with growing significance, as about one in eight women in the U.S. develop breast cancer at some point in their lives. Dr. Theresa Asmus is a clinical associate professor at USD's Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science. She can talk more about breast cancer diagnoses -- what to look out for and how to ensure you're regularly monitoring your health -- and how she trains medical students across San Diego to have difficult conversations with patients, and guide them through the physical and emotional challenges of treatment.
