According to a new report by the Children’s Advocacy Institute (CAI) at the University of San Diego School of Law, Amazon appears to be openly defying a 2018 California law (California Civil Code. §1798.99.1) that requires Internet marketplaces like Amazon.com to age-verify the purchase of products that are unlawful or dangerous to sell to minors like aerosol containers of paint and a BB gun. A representative from CAI is available to discuss the report and what needs to be done to protect children.
