Students Develop Eco-Friendly Solution to Reduce Waste During Move-Out
|
During past move-out weekends, a group of USD students saw an opportunity to cut down on waste while helping future students and the San Diego community. They developed EcoExit -- a student move-out initiative that allows students to donate or recycle items from their dorm room. Clothing items will be donated to the Veterans Thrift Stores and mattress toppers will go to Path San Diego or Father Joe's Villages. Other items like lamps or furniture will be placed in storage containers for students to use when they move in during the next school year, reducing the need for new purchases. Move-out weekend runs through May 23. Students are available for interviews.
