USD Gets Grant to Tackle Extreme Heat
|
The San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative at USD, in partnership with UC San Diego, has been awarded $750K from the state to develop Heat Action Plans for San Diego, Chula Vista and La Mesa — three cities facing growing risks from rising temperatures. The project will also produce Regional Heat Vulnerability Indices to guide climate adaptation across the region, and create a Cooling Solutions Toolkit. Darbi Berry, director of the San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative, is available to discuss why these tools are needed and how they can help save lives as heatwaves become more frequent and severe.
