Staying Resilient in a Tough Job Market, Advice From a Leadership Coach
Studies show the average person changes careers three to seven times. And the job hunt is about more than what's written on your CV, or how you answer interview questions. It's also about your mindset as you send in applications and work to find your ideal position. Lorri Sulpizio, PhD, Director of the Conscious Leadership Academy at the University of San Diego works with leaders -- from CEOs to nonprofit leaders -- to help them lead better in their respective fields. She can offer tips that go beyond "updating your resume" that can help get your mind right, and can share tactical tips she coaches her clients on such as how to leverage your network and think beyond the work sector you're in.

New Student-Led Project Sees Success in Reducing Waste During Move-In Weekend
When students moved out of their dorm rooms in May, a group of USD students created a program called "Eco Exit" -- where students could place their gently-used dorm items (lamps, rugs, furniture, etc.) in a storage pod that would be stored, instead of thrown out, until students moved into campus in August. This past weekend, students could "shop" the used items for free and use those items in their dorm room, reducing the need to buy new products and saving money in the process. Students were able to divert 8,760 pounds of trash from landfills and more than 50 mattress toppers were collected for PATH San Diego, a homeless services center during this project. Students are able to share the success of the program and what they hope to accomplish next year with the project. B-roll was also collected surrounding this project during both move-out and move-in weekend.

San Diego Home Prices Dip for First Time in Two Years
For the first time in two years, San Diego’s home prices have declined, according to the latest S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller report. The San Diego metro area saw a 0.61% drop in home prices year-over-year, which is the first annual decrease since June 2023. While national price growth slowed across the board, San Diego’s dip stands out in contrast to major metros like New York and Chicago. Alan Gin, associate professor of economics, can explain what this means for buyers and sellers in one of the country’s most competitive and expensive housing markets.
