Black Friday Trends This Year

Black Friday is just a few days away but deals have been starting as early as October this year. According to Drive Research, 71% of shoppers will shop online this Black Friday -- with many consumers cutting back this year, due to increased cost of living. Dan Roccato, clinical professor of finance, can discuss Black Friday consumer trends this year and what stores are doing to entice shoppers with ongoing competition online. *Only available on Tuesday.

How to Make Thanksgiving More Sustainable

Americans are expected to throw out 320 million pounds ($550M worth) of food on Thanksgiving Day, according to ReFED. Beyond the hit to our wallets, it’s a major strain on the environment. Milena LaBarbiera, sustainability coordinator at USD, can offer tips on how families can make the holiday more environmentally friendly. She can speak on simple habits that cut household food waste, how to plan for the holiday meal and the environmental impact of wasted food. *Only available on Tuesday.

Women’s Volleyball Eyes Undefeated Season
|
USD just clinched the WCC title, and this week they’ll look to complete the program’s third-ever undefeated season in conference play. USD Women’s Volleyball is 16-0 in the WCC this year, and they have a pair of home games to wrap up the regular season. Tuesday at 6 p.m., they’ll take on Pacific. And Saturday at noon, they’ll play Gonzaga. Sunday, the team will host a watch party for Selection Sunday, where they’ll find out their seeding for the NCAA Tournament. San Diego’s holiday basketball weekend is back — it’s Holiday Hoops, presented by USD Athletics and the Genuine Car Club. Both the Men’s and Women’s teams hit the court in back-to-back weekend non-conference games on December 13 and 14. This year’s celebration combines basketball, vintage cars, holiday fun and community giving.
USD Athletics and Genuine Car Club are partnering on a Toy Drive benefiting the Lemon Grove Early Childhood Education Center. Bring a new, unwrapped toy and get in for free (General Admission only).
