With Super Bowl LX just days away, the race for eyeballs isn’t only on the field, but also in the multi-million-dollar ad marketplace where 30-second commercials now run about $8 million. With audiences spread across streaming, social and short-form platforms, brands face pressure to justify this pricey broadcast buy. Farhana Nusrat, assistant professor of marketing, can explain the rising Super Bowl ad costs, if the investment still pays off and whether these ads still resonate with today's viewers.

Understanding Vague Food Labels

Costco is facing a class-action lawsuit claiming that it misled customers by labeling its popular rotisserie chickens as "preservative free" when the items did in fact contain food additives. The complaint sheds light on the complicated world of food labels. Words on food packaging may not mean what you think, and where your food comes from could have a big impact on how clean it is. Aaron Gross is director of USD's Center for Food Systems Transformation. He can talk about some of the common misconceptions about words on food labels -- things like "cage-free," "organic" and more -- and tips people can use when looking at labels to make informed decisions about their food.
