Summer is officially here and, according to a new report, people are looking to take fewer trips this year and cut back on travel-related items. But, about a third of people surveyed say higher gas prices aren't impacting their travel plans this summer. Dan Roccato, clinical professor of finance, can provide financial insight to this report and also share tips for saving money before and during your next trip.

June is Men’s Health Month and this year's theme is "Partners in Care: For Better Lifespans Across the Lifespan" which showcases the important role that family plays in supporting men's health especially as studies show that men are less likely to get health care than women. Kevin Maxwell is a clinical associate professor of nursing at USD and family nurse practitioner. He can talk about some of the biggest risk factors to men’s health, how to encourage men to get preventative care and some of the steps to prevent health issues.

USD's Federal Tax Clinic Providing Free Legal Support to Locals

USD's Federal Tax Clinic is one of 13 legal clinics at USD's School of Law where students get hands-on legal experience, under the supervision of an attorney, while providing free legal support to those who need help with their tax disputes. While taxes were due in mid-April, it is the summertime when people usually hear from the IRS about issues with their taxes or requests for payment --increasing the number of clients the clinic tends to see. Richard Carpenter, supervising attorney for the Federal Tax Clinic, can discuss what types of cases they help clients with, what he recommends to people who have legal issues with their taxes and why he has been seeing more cases, largely due to clients not being able to keep up with rising costs in the county.
