University of San Diego - President's Postcard

Dear Toreros,

As Hanukkah ends and we begin the season of Advent and our annual campus tradition of the Christmas Tree Lighting, the warmth and joy of the holiday season is certainly among us at USD. We are beyond grateful to USD Board Chairman Donald Knauss, and his wife, Ellie, who have generously given $50 million to ensure the Knauss School of Business will be known as one of the most student-centered and innovative schools of business in the nation! November was a busy month at USD. A record-breaking Founders Gala in the heart of “America’s Finest City” raised more than $2.3 million for student scholarships. Homelessness Action Week brought together campus and community stakeholders to address housing insecurity. The third annual Fowler Business Concept Challenge showcased innovative student ideas aimed at reimagining entrepreneurship. We also witnessed the power of interdisciplinary collaborations and saw the campus recognized for its student voter participation. As we look ahead to finals and the end of the fall semester, I wish you and your families all the joy that the holidays bring.
