October was a month full of celebration as we welcomed back to campus so many extraordinary individuals for Homecoming 2022, including our newest Golden Toreros, the Class of 1972, and NASA astronaut Matthew Dominick ’05 (BS/BA). It was a memorable week of events — I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you to all who donated during our eighth annual Torero Tuesday, which raised a record-breaking $1.875 million in support of academic and extracurricular programs, athletics and scholarships. I’m delighted to share that more than 2,700 unique gifts were made during the 24-hour campaign. It was my distinct pleasure to welcome Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) President and CEO Antonio Flores to campus for a series of events as we move forward in our quest to become a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). As an emerging HSI, we benefit so much from Antonio’s leadership, advice and friendship. As we head into the holiday season, let me be the first to thank each one of you for all you do to make USD such a beautiful place to learn and grow.
