March was Women’s History Month and I want to acknowledge nine truly amazing women on our campus. Senior Vice President and Provost Dr. Gail Baker, Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Charlotte Johnson, Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Dr. Regina Dixon-Reeves, and Dean of SOLES Dr. Kimberly White-Smith were all recently named to the San Diego Business Journal’s Top 50 Black Leaders of Influence. Additionally, White-Smith, College of Arts and Sciences Dean Dr. Noelle Norton, Kroc School of Peace Studies Dean Dr. Patricia Marquez, Jacobs Institute for Innovation in Education Executive Director Dr. Perla Meyers, and Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering Associate Professor Odesma Dalrymple were all named to the journal’s list of 2023 Women of Influence Honorees. It is a distinct honor to work alongside these inspiring individuals whose leadership with grace, faith and kindness continues to transform the University of San Diego in profound ways.
As we head into an extended weekend and the summit of the Liturgical Year, I’d like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and joyful Easter.

The past weekend @uofsandiego was packed with many fun activities on campus. It was exciting to watch @usd_rugby beat Claremont, finishing the regular season undefeated and to watch @usdwtennis defeat #21 Oklahoma. On Saturday we celebrated Twilight Blues, our annual event to thank those who generously give to USD. On Sunday night @usdalcalaclub welcomed our newest student leaders. Overall it was a wonderful spring weekend on campus.
