University of San Diego - President's Postcard

Dear Toreros,

My heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to another record-breaking Torero Tuesday. The ninth annual event raised more than $2.42 million, which will enhance student scholarships, academic programs and athletics at USD. Each year since the inaugural Torero Tuesday in 2015, we have set a new high mark for giving — a testament to the overwhelming pride and constant support of Toreros locally, nationally and around the world.

Homecoming and Family Weekend is always one of my favorite annual events and the addition of the Halloween theme this year made it extra festive and memorable. We welcomed back our alumni to campus and celebrated the Class of 1973. We looked on with pride as legacy students received a ceremonial pin from family members who previously graduated from USD. We enjoyed an epic night of tricks and games in support of the Torero Student Support Fund at Torero Casino Night. We welcomed the group, Surfaces, to campus for our annual Big Blue Bash Concert. We also came together in the Alcalá Vistas Park Lot for the Spooktacular Toreo Tailgate. I hope you all had as much fun as I did.

As we embark on the beginning of the holiday season, remember to Lead with Love in all you do in the classroom, in your communities and in your life.

Peace,
Jim
