University of San Diego - President's Postcard

Dear Toreros,

The beginning of fall semester is one of my favorite times of year as our campus springs to life with the promise of new beginnings. Olé Weekend and Welcome Week 2023 saw us welcome the Class of 2027, one of the best academically prepared and most diverse classes in the university’s history. This class represents inclusive excellence at its best. Our law and graduate programs also welcomed students from all over the world — individuals eager to immerse themselves in programs that prepare them as professionals as well as engaged and active citizens ready to address humanity’s urgent challenges.

Our biannual Alcalá Bazaar showcased all of the amazing opportunities available at USD. To all our students, I encourage you to get involved. Join a student club or organization to strengthen your connections and enhance your student experience. Join your fellow Toreros in cheering on one of our sports teams or consider joining me for a morning walk. However you choose to engage; be courageous, be kind, and enthusiastically embrace every opportunity you’re given. Make the most of all that it means to be a Torero. And finally, always remember to Lead with Love.

Peace,

James T. Harris
