University of San Diego - President's Postcard

Dear Toreros,

As we enter the final stretch of the fall semester, I am reminded of the many gifts this community brings to one another throughout the year. I would like to extend my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a joyful, healthy holiday season. As you take your final exams, I encourage you to study hard, take care of yourselves and travel safely wherever your academic break may lead.

Like every year, we celebrate the arrival of the Advent season — a time of anticipation, reflection and hope — through festive music, video reflections and other inspiring offerings from members of the USD community.

May this season bring you peace, renewal and a sense of shared purpose as we look ahead to the new year together.

Peace,
Jim

Dr. Harris and Professor Roy Brooks

It was such a pleasure to be invited to The New York Times DealBook Summit to participate in a “Task Force” conversation with fellow presidents and chancellors from campuses across the country. We discussed important issues facing higher education and how our campuses are responding, including demonstrating the value of higher education in serving the public good. When America has faced challenges in the past, it has turned to higher education to achieve our national goals and promote economic prosperity. That mission is more important than ever, and @uofsandiego is proud to be lighting the way forward with our deeply held mission and values.
