University of San Diego - President's Postcard

Dear Toreros,

When we look back in the years to come, I’m confident that February will serve as a defining moment in the history of our university. USD's new strategic plan, Lighting the Way Forward to 2030, was officially unveiled to the campus community, and will serve as a bold vision intended to elevate USD’s identity among the world’s most distinguished Catholic universities. The plan reflects our promise to prepare the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and Changemakers to address the challenges of our time, to create a more just and hopeful world, and to lead with love.

Additionally, following a national search, it was announced two weeks ago that Dr. Eileen Strempel has accepted my offer to become the next Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost. Dr. Strempel is deeply devoted to advancing academic success and her extensive experience will help bring the important goals of the new strategic plan to fruition. She will begin her new role on July 1.

Peace,
Jim

James T. Harris
